Dr. Jonathan Kaufman M.D. is a board certified Cornell fellowship trained Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive surgeon. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of dry eye, blepharitis, keratoconus, corneal dystrophies, and pterygium. As an ophthalmologist, Dr. Kaufman is an expert in LASIK, PRK, cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, pterygium removal, and DSAEK (endothelial transplant) surgeries.

Dr. Kaufman is a Floridian who grew up in Tampa. He is a graduate of Berkeley Preparatory School, and subsequently graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with University Honors and a bachelor’s degree in cellular and molecular biology. His medical training was in Chicago at Rush Medical College. Dr. Kaufman underwent a one year transitional internship at Saint Francis in Chicago, IL.

Dr. Kaufman completed his ophthalmology residency at Texas Tech in Lubbock, TX. During his last year of residency he was elected Chief Resident. Dr. Kaufman then completed a one year Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive Surgery Fellowship in Manhattan at Weill Cornell Medical Center. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of both the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the Cornea Society.
