Peter Lopez, MD joined Brandon Orthopedic Associates, in 1999. Dr. Lopez is a graduate of The University of Connecticut Medical School. He completed a general surgery internship at Columbia University and his orthopedic residency (at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center) in New York. He completed a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (Board Certified), is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons in addition to Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. Lopez was recertified in 2009.

Dr. Lopez specializes in Hand Surgery as well as general orthopedics. He is an expert in the treatment of complex traumatic and degenerative upper extremity conditions, and has a particular interest in Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair, and Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Release. He is one of a few surgeons around the country performing Arthroscopic Thumb (CMC) Arthroplasty.
