George Fisher, M.D. is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and specializes in cataract surgery.

Born in Kankakee, Illinois, he earned a dual-degree in Pre-Professional studies and Anthropology from the University of Notre Dame. He attended medical school and completed his internship at Loyola University Chicago. He then came to the University of South Florida to complete his residency and serve as the program’s Chief Resident in his final year.

He combines advanced diagnostic imaging, clinical expertise, and surgical skills to provide patients with the highest quality care. He serves patients with a variety of eye conditions, providing consultations in all areas of ophthalmology.

An eagle scout, Dr. Fisher is especially honored to also serve our nation’s veterans as a staff physician at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital. He maintains membership in the Tampa Bay Ophthalmology Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and enjoys volunteering his time to teach surgical skills to ophthalmology residents at USF.
